2025-2026 In-House Rec Basketball

SOUTH FAYETTE BOYS BASKETBALL IN-HOUSE REC PROGRAM

Registration is now open until October 31, 2025. Please read the details below and register before the deadline.

OVERVIEW

South Fayette Boys Basketball provides recreational basketball opportunities to boys in Grades 1st - 12th. The in-house rec program consists of the divisions listed below with emphasis on improving basketball skills, promoting active lifestyles, and providing a fun environment to play the game of basketball.

All participants must play at their current grade level. All skill levels (beginner to travel players) are welcome to participate in these programs. There are no tryouts and every registrant will participate.

The in-house rec programs will be held on the weekends at the SF school gyms. Exact dates and times will be announced shortly after registration ends, but general time frames are set forth below. All time frames are subject to unexpected weather and gym closures.

Register before October 31st! There may be waitlists. All registrations after October 31st will be subject to a $50 late fee.

DIVISIONS

1st & 2nd Grades (Dribbling Cubs)

Started last year, this division will be a skills-only program with skills stations (no games).
Six 1-hour sessions - Saturdays exact dates TBD
We are seeking 6-8 volunteer coaches.
Cost is $90 (includes a SF reversible jersey).

3rd & 4th Grades

This division will be a combination of skill sessions and 3v3 league play.
3 skill sessions followed by 7 weeks of officiated 3v3 half court games.
All sessions and game play will be held on 10 Sundays for 90 minutes December-March.
Registration is capped at 96 players, with the goal of having a max of 16 teams of 6 players each.
We are seeking 16 head coaches.
Cost is $100 (includes a SF reversible jersey).

5th & 6th Grades

80 minute sessions with 30 minutes of practice followed immediately by an officiated 5v5 full court game.
10 Saturday sessions; first Saturday being a skill session to evaluate skills and create fair teams; last Saturday being a tournament. December-March
Registration is capped at 80 players, with the goal of having 8 teams of 10 players each.
We are seeking 8 head coaches.
Cost is $75 (includes a SF reversible jersey).

7th & 8th Grades

60 minute sessions of officiated 5v5 full court games (no practice).
10 sessions; first being a skill session to evaluate skills and create fair teams; last being a tournament. Sundays December-March
Registration is capped at 60 players.
We are seeking 6 head coaches.
Cost is $75 (includes a SF reversible jersey).

9th - 12th Grades

60 minute sessions of officiated 5v5 full court games (no practice).
10 Sunday sessions (including playoffs) December-March
There is no evaluation.
Registration is capped at 100 players.
We are seeking 10 head coaches.
Cost is $ 100 (includes a SF reversible jersey).
*Parents must register their HS player(s). No HS player may self-register.*

VOLUNTEER COACHES

It is CRUCIAL that we have enough volunteer coaches. Our in-house rec program depends on parents volunteering to coach teams in all divisions. Please consider volunteering when registering your son. No advanced basketball knowledge is required. However, it is important that all volunteer head coaches have general basketball knowledge, can teach basic skills (especially Grades 1st - 6th) and have a genuine interest in helping players have a fun and rewarding basketball experience. *All clearances must be uploaded on the website* before the season begins. EMAIL COMMUNICATION

If both parents/guardians wish to receive communications regarding basketball this season, please enter email addresses for both parents/guardians when registering.

TRAVEL PLAYERS

Travel players are encouraged to register. In-house rec is an affordable way to get additional basketball gym time, to continue building skills and to play in a fun atmosphere with peers (including those from different grades). There will likely be an occasional conflict with travel, but that should be the exception rather than the norm. We need sufficient registrants to be a fun and successful basketball program.
